Course reviews
Below are some of the comments and thanks we have received from people who have complelted one of our day courses. It is not always easy for people to 'carve out' a whole day in life to spend with your camera and this, I believe, is in part our appeal, and where students can derive confidence from under the supportive, directive eye of a professional photographer.
Ordinarily we will go out with 3 or 4 students, the courses are very informal and enjoyable, and people are of all abilities, from beginners with a new Digital SLR or keen amatuers wanting to develop skills learned from a professional.
Hi Jim, Thanks again for the course on saturday, the images I took have impressed
even me! As print's they have come out perfectly and some I have enlarged and
framed ready to hang on the wall at home, the beach scenes and beach huts in particular look fantastic. When friends visit at first they don't believe that I have taken them!
Sophie, Education professional, summer 2008.
' I just wanted to say a big thank you for the course on Saturday, I found it very interesting and learned a lot about composing pictures and my camera. I was also pleasantly surprised by some of my photos! And thank you for lending me your own camera when my battery died......'
Nikki, teacher, summer 2008.
Many thanks, my camera has functions I never understood, now I do and my photos are improving dramatically. With no time for an evening course yours was just perfect.'
Tony, City Broker, February 2008,
I never really thought about composition before, now I finally get it'. 'Fantastic locations, good instruction, positive encouragement and of course, a fine collection of images was achieved throughout the day. Thank you. My photos are suddenly WOW!'
Susan, Civil Servant, February 2008.
'Just what I needed, and the landscape was breath taking.'
Simon, IT professional, April 2008.
'I never get this time to dedicate to my photography, I've learned more today than in the previous 12 months since owning the Nikon.'
Alan, window cleaner, summer 2008.
'I am still getting my head around shutter speeds and F-stops but feel far more confident than ever that I am now getting to know my camera.'
John Spring 2008.
'The Downs are wonderful, and I love Brighton seafront so much. And now I have the confidence to not only use the camera but imagine an image before I make it. Thanks for a fantastic day.'
Kate, teacher, summer 2008.
'What a superb gift that was, completely original; I thoroughly enjoyed the day. With two very young children I never get these kinds of opportunities so it has really blown the cobwebs away and I've fallen in love with my camera again. This week I have been "boring" my kids by going look at this and look at that.....I have the confidence again to see things in a whole new way.''
Sara, mother, January 2008.
Don't be suprised to bump into me on the Downs or the seafront now. The starlings over the west Pier are just mesmerising. I fear the wife might just become one of those photography widows :-) Big thumbs up Jim, excellent day, the cameras settings no longer faze me. Cheers.
